Turning 30! Resolutions!

I always had this happy picture in my mind that I would click the day I turn 30, all dressed up with my family and a happy kid in  my hands that would say if 30 feels like this, I don't mind being 30 at all. Well I did dress up, I had a partial family around and a happy kid too. But, no right time to click the picture. In fact the day just whizzed by with something or other like baby food, baby sleep, baby poop and a massive headache at the end of the day. Making the day I was looking forward to with great expectations a rather usual day. No complaints. No regrets. But, I do wonder when will I get the time again to soak my feet and relax, read a book, or newspaper for that matter. Finish episodes after episodes of my favorite series without being bothered in between or forget all this just sleep straight for a couple of hours and not feel this nagging feeling of I might fall off any second. Or having to control your anger and frustration that stems from this never ending sleep deprivation.

Anyways enough of the rant. Now that my phone broke down less than a few hours ago. I already feel a lot more free time at my hand and here's the first thing I wanted to do. Add a post to this long forgotten blog. To begin my new year with a promise to myself that I shall not delve over petty things. I shall take out time for myself and things that are important to me. And this is one of them. So here it goes.. to new beginnings...

Highway!

Well, I happened to watch Highway last night, and the simple sweet plot did touch a chord somewhere. No it wasn't the rich girl trapped in societal pressures wanting to flee or the honesty and sensibility of a thug; but the thrill of being on the road, surviving on whatever it throws on your way. I have never been a big fan of luxury travel. As in yes, I do like the journey to be comfortable but my husband and I both don't believe in spending big bucks on the resorts and hotels on our way. We like to keep it simple, interacting with the locals and enjoying the unplanned vacation to it's core.

So, the little cup of teas on the way, the pakodas, the random meals at dhabas, they all make the journey so much more interesting. And these are the elements in the movie that I enjoyed the most. Of course there was this innocent face of Alia and handsome Hooda along with some good acting on their parts, simple little jokes that make you smile. But, there was something about the no plans that kept me glued. No fancy clothes or makeup or unnecessary songs. It was just plain few hours of be lost in your dreams which I enjoyed every bit of. I guess after the Lunch Box this is one movie that that made me feel like ok I didn't waste my time and money. Looking forward to more movies based on such simple concepts that people can relate to.
